    GUFC First Quarterly Program and

    State Arbor Day Event


    During the morning session, Dr. Ed Gilman, Professor of Environmental Horticulture at the University of Florida, will present:

    • Planting and pruning of younger trees
    • Innovative root management techniques
    • An outdoor pruning demonstration

    After lunch will be the State Arbor Day Ceremony to recognize new and renewing Tree City USA communities, Tree Campus USA colleges, and Tree Line USA utilities present. Carolyn Crayton, founder of the Macon Cherry Blossom Festival, will also be honored with GUFC's Mary Helen Ray Legacy Award.


    To round out the event, Wesleyan College's Dr. James Ferrari will give an update on the Wesleyan College Arboretum and lead a guided tour.


    GUFC member price: $60

    Non-member price: $75

    CEUs:  4.25 ISA Certified Arborist and Municipal Arborist; 5 SAF Continuing Forestry Education credits.
