Making Urban Trees Count: Quantifying and Crediting Stormwater BenefitsPresented by:
Bill Hodgins, P.E., Center for Watershed Protection
About: The use of trees as a stormwater best management practice (BMP) has been limited by the uncertainty of how to “credit” trees for runoff and pollutant reduction to meet water quality requirements. This month the Center for Watershed Protection published their study to address this gap by developing a science-based crediting system for urban tree planting. This presentation will include a summary of the literature search and the model developed for quantifying and crediting urban tree stormwater benefits.
