    September 29th, 8:00 AM-1:00 PM
Presented by GAA in partnership with:

Electricity is a serious and widespread hazard to arborists. In fact, electricity causes about 30 percent of all fatalities in the tree care industry, making it the leading cause of worker fatalities. The purpose of the course is to ensure a uniform understanding of the dangers of working around power lines in emergency settings and tree work. This course has been custom designed for tree workers, tree consultants, and tree company owners.

Presented by Odis Sisk, a third generation arborist. Throughout his career, Odis has performed many roles including researcher, production climbing arborist, instructor, safety director, and plant health care consultant. He is a former tree climbing competitor, winning the GAA championship an unprecedented six years in a row. He has encouraged camaraderie and stressed the importance of workplace safety at the competitions for the past several years.Odis has traveled throughout the United States, Canada, Brazil, Australia, Puerto Rico, Germany, and France climbing and teaching.
