About: The Georgia Tree Care Industry Economic Impact and Licensing Grant examines the economic impact of the tree care industry, reviews licensing systems from other states, and suggests the feasibility of licensing models that fit the size and scope of Georgia’s tree care industry. A Qualtrics survey was created to assess the level of interest in mandatory licensing for the tree care industry in Georgia. Additional information was collected on disposal of woodchips, safety practices, and size of the industry. Much of the impetus behind licensing stems from a keen awareness of the importance of safety in the industry. A team of researchers and industry representatives developed a questionnaire exploring safety knowledge, practices, and training. An invitation to participate in the survey was sent to all members of the Georgia Arborist Association (approximately 350 members) and 153 respondents completed the survey.
Location: Zoom Call, Instructions will be sent out to all registered 7, 3, & 1 day(s) before. Also 2 hours before meeting.
