Arboriculture and Bonsai: Similarities and Differences

Presented by:

       Robert  Lee Cuilty III
Evergreen Tree Service, Certified Arborist

About: Bonsai is the practice of combining selective pruning, fertilization, and wiring over many years to create a proportionally scaled version of a full grown tree specimen, focusing on the natural beauty and individual character of the trees. This discussion is a unique look at how tree care practices can affect our environment, and demonstrates a delicate understanding of a trees biology and growth behaviors, with many common techniques in bonsai being contradictory to standard tree care practices in the tree health care and tree production industry. Robert will lead a discussion on techniques in bonsai tree cultivation, connecting the information to practical use in arboriculture and how we can more consciously apply these methods to our environment.

Location: Zoom Call, Instructions will be sent out to all registered 7, 3, & 1 day(s) before
