7:45-8:20am – Registration & Coffee
8:20-8:30am – Workshop Begins – Welcome / Orientation
8:30-9:30am - Biological & Structural Foundations of Tree-Literate Pruning (Dr. Kim Coder, Professor, UGA Warnell School of Forestry)
9:30-10:00am - Pruning Objectives, Types, & Cuts (Rodney Walters, Community Forester, Athens, Athens-Clarke County United Government )
10:00-10:15am - BREAK
10:15-10:45am - Utility Pruning BMPs and Line Safety - Sherry Lizotte, Georgia Power
11:00-12:00- OUTDOOR STATIONS (small groups rotate to one of three stations every hour)
Equipment & Personal Safety Equipment (1 hour) (David Breeden-Husqvarna)
Mature Tree Pruning & Rigging (1 hour) (New Urban Forestry)
Young Tree Pruning (1 hour) (Holly Campbell, Public Service Assistant & Dr. Jason Gordon, Assistant Professor, UGA Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources)
12:00-1:00pm- LUNCH
1:00-2:00- OUTDOOR STATIONS (participants rotate to the next station)
