About: Andrew Loyd is a leader in research and technical support in the areas of plant pathology and mycology. He is currently a Plant Pathology researcher with the Bartlett Tree Research Laboratory in Charlotte, NC. He is a wealth of knowledge with a PhD in Forest Resources and Conservation, a Master's in Science of Plant Pathology, and obtained his Bachelor's degree in Plant and Soil Systems. In this session, Andrew will be covering decay fungi in living trees and how it relates to understanding tree risk. The audience will gain information on fungal identification, decay mechanism, and best practices for managing risk in urban trees.
