Lea Clark - Georgia Forestry Commission

Lea has worked as a paralegal, a criminal defense lawyer, and a college professor. After getting a Master’s in Forestry from UGA, she is now with the Georgia Forestry Commission as the Community Forester for Northeast Georgia, with 43 counties in her territory. Her focus is on providing support for cities, counties, and tree advocacy groups to improve their urban tree canopy.

In this session we will learn about:

Trees & Georgia Law - we will cover the most common legal issues arborists and tree professionals encounter when helping tree owners.  We cover nuisance and negligence as causes of action, standard of care, and learn from 3 important cases from Georgia courts

Location/Format: Virtual via ZOOM - upon registration via the GAA Website you will receive a confirmation and instructions to register your email via ZOOM.  Please be sure to complete this step to ensure you receive the log in instructions ahead of the event.

Time: 6:15 pm - 7:30 pm
