    Invasive Insects of Concern for Trees in Georgia

    September 9th 6:15-7:30 pm. with Dr. Elizabeth McCarty

    1 ISA CEU 

    In this presentation spotted lanternfly, Asian longhorned beetle, and other invasive tree insects will be highlighted.  Insect appearance, lifecycle, and damage will be covered.  The role of arborists as often the detector of invasive pests and the process of how invasive insects are confirmed in EDDMapS when people report a pest will be covered.

    Meet the Speaker- 

    Elizabeth McCarty


    Elizabeth McCarty is the Forest Health Specialist with the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources at the University of Georgia. Her areas of specialization include forest entomology, insecticide use in trees, environmental risk of insecticides, and aquatic entomology.
